Star Grades are the main awards that rookies take as they progress through the RLSS awards.

There are four star grades 1-4, in each grade there are 4 levels and then a final summary level.

The levels are made up by four area

1. Water Safety
2. Self Rescue
3. Rescue
4. Emergency Response

It is possible also to achieve certificates in these four areas, when the summary award is signed off.
i.e. if you completed all the elements of Emergency Response for each grade level.

All the training for these elements are completed during normal club training sessions
